XMR on Hyperliquid: How to Trade Monero Perps With SecureShift Perp (2026)

You can trade Monero's price on Hyperliquid through an XMR-USDC perpetual. On SecureShift Perp, the XMR market currently shows up to 10x leverage. You connect a wallet, deposit USDC and go long or short. A perp never pays out Monero: it settles in USDC. If you want real XMR, swap for it instead.
What "XMR on Hyperliquid" Actually Means
Most big centralised exchanges have stopped listing Monero spot trading. Binance delisted it in February 2024. That pushed traders toward derivatives. In January 2026, Monero perpetuals went live on Hyperliquid through a permissionless HIP-3 deployment, as XMR hit a $797 all-time high on January 14 (Yellow).
A perpetual ("perp") is a contract that tracks XMR's price with no expiry date. You post USDC as collateral, choose long or short, and profits and losses are paid in USDC. You never hold Monero itself.
Native XMR vs XMR Perp vs Bridged XMR
| Native XMR | XMR perp | Bridged XMR token | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where it lives | Your Monero wallet | Hyperliquid (e.g. via SecureShift Perp) | Hyperliquid spot |
| Privacy | Private by default | Public: Hyperliquid addresses and trades are visible | Public once bridged |
| Leverage | None | Yes (up to 10x shown on SecureShift Perp) | None |
| Pays out | XMR | USDC only | Redeemable via its bridge operator |
| Main risk | Your own key management | Liquidation, funding costs | Bridge/issuer risk |
Use a perp to trade the price. Use native XMR to hold, spend or keep private.
How to Trade XMR Perps on SecureShift Perp
- Get USDC. Already holding BTC, ETH or USDT? Swap to USDC with no account on SecureShift. Perp collateral on Hyperliquid is USDC.
- Open perp.secureshift.io and press Connect to link a self-custody wallet. Your keys stay with you.
- Deposit USDC following the on-screen deposit flow.
- Search "XMR" in Markets and open the XMR-USDC market. It currently shows up to 10x.
- Set size and leverage, then go long or short. Use a limit order to control your entry, and set a stop-loss.
Risks You Need to Understand First
- Liquidation. At 10x, a roughly 10% move against you can wipe out your margin. Lower leverage gives you more room.
- Funding payments. Perps charge or pay a periodic funding rate, so holding a position for days has a cost. The market screen shows the estimated rate.
- Thin liquidity. HIP-3 markets can have wider spreads and bigger slippage than BTC or ETH perps, especially in fast moves.
- No privacy. Hyperliquid is a public ledger. Monero's privacy applies only to native XMR in a Monero wallet.
- Not financial advice. Leveraged trading can lose more than you expect. Only risk what you can afford to lose.
Want Real Monero Instead?
If your goal is to own XMR, skip the perp. Swap BTC, ETH or USDT straight to a Monero wallet with no account. Our guide to buying Monero without KYC walks through it.

FAQ
Can you trade Monero on Hyperliquid?
Yes. Hyperliquid has an XMR-USDC perpetual market launched through HIP-3 in January 2026. You can access it through front ends such as SecureShift Perp.
Does an XMR perp give me real Monero?
No. A perpetual tracks XMR's price and settles profits and losses in USDC. To own Monero, swap for native XMR to your own wallet.
What leverage is available on XMR perps?
SecureShift Perp currently shows up to 10x on the XMR market. Higher leverage means a smaller price move can liquidate you.
Is trading XMR perps private?
No. Hyperliquid accounts, balances and trades are public. Monero's privacy only applies to native XMR in a Monero wallet.
What do I need to start?
A self-custody EVM wallet and USDC for collateral. Connect the wallet on perp.secureshift.io, deposit USDC and open the XMR market.
