Altcoin is a term used to refer to any cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin. The term "altcoin" stands for "alternative coin" and is used to describe any cryptocurrency that was developed after Bitcoin and operates on its own blockchain network. Some examples of popular altcoins include Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Ripple.
