Turkmenistan Legalizes Crypto Mining but Bans It as Payment – What’s the Catch?
Turkmenistan has allowed cryptocurrency mining and exchange operations under the new Law on Virtual Assets, effective Jan. 1, 2026. The central bank has been tasked with licensing, KYC and AML rules, while cryptocurrencies cannot be used to pay for goods or services.
